Family is invited to visit the facility and participate in therapy sessions on an as-needed basis. The patient’s primary therapist will determine the best course to take for the individual patient and family. Video conferencing and phone sessions are available for family members who do not live locally.

Do you treat dual-diagnosis patients (those struggling with both mental health and substance use disorders)?

Yes. Banyan’s mental health programs are designed for those who have a primary mental health diagnosis, as well as co-occurring disorders with a secondary diagnosis of substance abuse.

Does your facility require tests upon admission? If so, what are they?

Upon admission all patients much submit a urine sample to identify any substance use that needs to be addressed along with a mental health diagnosis. They will be given a mental health assessment to determine medical & psychiatric history, symptoms and severity. It is then that patients can be properly diagnosed, and the best treatment plan developed for the course of treatment.

What are Mental Health Technicians?

Our Mental Health Technicians and Behavioral Health Technicians (“techs” for short) are an important part of our patients’ daily routines and they assist with various tasks such as transportation, scheduling, coordination of daily activities, and more. They are certified mental health technicians and we have a minimum of three on staff at all times.

What is the staff ratio?

We have 1 staff member for every 4 patients in our Mental Health Program.

Are the mental health patients mixed with the substance abuse clients in daily programming and housing?

Our mental health programming has a schedule that is entirely separate from our primary substance abuse program. Patients arrive and depart from the facility at different times, groups are held independent from one another and breaks are staggered. Recreation activities at nights and on the weekends are also entirely exclusive to each program.

All residences are gender-specific and defined by program as well.

What insurance do you accept?

Both programs accept all Out of Network Providers and cash pay options are available. Contact a member of our admissions team for information on payment and insurance options.
