Mental Health Programs for Adults

Our adult mental health programs are geared towards individuals ages 18 and older who are diagnosed with depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other related conditions. In addition to various levels of care for mental health, our nationwide facilities for mental health also utilize various evidence-based practices to help clients develop basic skills needed for long-term recovery and symptom maintenance.

Aftercare Program

Our aftercare mental health program offers continuous support to patients following the completion of their programs. During treatment, clients develop communication and relapse prevention skills they are expected to apply outside of their programs. However, the transition to life after rehab is not always smooth, so to prevent symptom relapse and help patients develop a routine after treatment, we offer an aftercare program. This program offers services like counseling and sponsor support to help keep patients accountable and on track.

Ancillary Programs

Ancillary services in mental health care are also referred to as supplementary services that aren’t included in our levels of care. These are optional and additional services available to clients who may require support in more specific areas than others. Our ancillary mental health services include:

  • Art and Music Therapy
  • Biofeedback
  • Chiropractic Therapy
  • Equine Therapy
  • Nutritional Therapy
  • Pet Therapy
  • Reality Therapy Program
  • Smoking Cessation
  • Yoga & Meditation

Faith-Based Counseling

The Banyan Treatment Centers family also includes numerous faith-based mental health facilities, which offer individual and group counseling. Patients who opt to partake in our faith-based mental health program will have the opportunity to develop spirituality and either establish or strengthen their relationship with God. Some of our goals and faith solutions to mental health include:

  • Building a relationship with a higher power, providing a deeper sense of purpose and meaning in one’s life
  • Connecting or reconnecting with a religious community
  • Identifying religious or spiritual values to help guide everyday decisions and actions
  • Learning how to ask others for forgiveness and make amends
  • Learning how to forgive others and oneself
  • Learning how to use spirituality or religion to deepen one’s faith and develop coping skills
  • Making sense of suffering, challenges, or hardships in one’s life

LGBTQ+

Our adult mental health care also includes LGBTQ+ mental health treatment. As a family of nationwide mental facilities that are open to helping people of all backgrounds, we understand the unique challenges the LGBTQ+ community faces, especially when it comes to mental well-being. Our LGBTQ+ mental health program is individualized for individuals who identify as members of this community, offering them a safe and comfortable environment where they can learn and grow with others in this community who are also recovering from mental illness.

Mental Health Disorder Diagnosis

For patients to be admitted into our inpatient or outpatient programs for mental health, they must first undergo a clinical assessment and, sometimes, a diagnosis. It is common for patients to come to us seeking help without understanding the disorder they have or never having received a diagnosis in the first place. Our Banyan facilities for mental health offer primary diagnosis services to help identify the cause of a patient's symptoms and steer them in the right direction when it comes to treatment and recovery. Not knowing what is causing your symptoms can be highly stressful, which is why this service is offered in our clinical assessment.

Veterans in Recovery

Our outpatient and inpatient mental health programs for adults also include a mental health program geared toward Veterans. It’s common for veterans to suffer from disorders like PTSD, anxiety, and depression after their time on the battlefield. Unfortunately, those who do not get the support they need often succumb to the severity of their symptoms in their personal relationships, careers, and other areas of their lives. To help this specific demographic cope with the unique symptoms and hardships of mental illness, our Banyan facilities offer a Veterans in Recovery program for mental health.
